Robert L. Johnson, age 78, of Huron, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
His body has been cremated and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
Robert L. Johnson, the son of Alfred and Merle (Rudloff) Johnson, was born on May 7, 1934 in Huron, SD. He attended Huron High School. Bob married Joanne Ritter in 1951. Bob worked for Armour and Company for 31 years until they closed. He then worked at Lewis Drug for 15 years.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family. Bob always enjoyed laughing and joking with his family and friends, and had a great sense of humor.
Grateful for having shared in Bob’s life are his three children: David L. Johnson, Shelly (John) Wilson, and Todd S. (Juanita) Johnson, all of Huron, SD; 10 grandchildren: Jason Burnett, Amy Burnett (Tamie Felty), Keith (Kallie) Johnson, Elizabeth (Eric) Sivertsen, Rachael Johnson, Sarah Smalley, Eric (Theresa) Johnson, Jeremy (Diana) Johnson, Tess (Bob) Bonner, and Gerrin Wilson; several great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Neitzert, of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Scott; his brother; three sisters; and a daughter-in-law.
