In our high school days, Mike and I spent many hours playing music, often in his parents' home. Barbara and Ron were always welcoming, despite (I'm sure) not being big fans of some of the noise coming from their basement. One of my fondest memories from those days is of entering the house from the garage to head downstairs for band practice, and hearing Barbara holler from somewhere upstairs, "Don't let that cat out!" We sometimes would tease her by pretending the cat had gotten outside, though I don't think she/he ever did. Barbara often made goodies for us to have during or after band practice, and I remember sitting at the kitchen table many times eating cookies (or whatever) and talking with Barbara. It's with a broad smile and warm feelings for the family that I remember Barbara and the little house on 9th Street.
