Claude and Marlys was my neighbor in Yale and I enjoyed his hunting and fishing stories. He was always there to help in the community or help someone out. His love for dogs I remember very well. My thoughts and prays go to Marlys and the girls during this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Claude's passing. I remember wonderful evenings enjoying movies at the Yale Starlite. Once I was heading home from Yale to my parents' farm on my bicycle against a fierce wind. Claude saw me struggling and offered to drive me home. Thanks again, Claude.

Claude was a special friend to our family. I remember hearing about the good times my parents Joe and Esther spent with Claude and Maryls. We had many good laughs just hearing about there get togethers or times they went out together. One story that sticks in my mind is my Dad telling us about when they went to Huron and were walking downtown Huron and Claudes legs were long enough that he could just swing his leg over the parking meters and just keep walking. What I and my family are especially grateful to Claude for is when our Dad died we knew we would not be able to bury him next to our Mother. But the phone ran and it was Claude. He asked me if we would like to have Joe buried by Esther. It was understood that a Catholic could not be buried in the Lutheran Cemetary. It was tough thinking they would not be side by side. Of couse I said we would really like them to be together but did not think it would happen. Claude said, "Let me make a couple phone calls."Didn't take long and he called back with great news that Joe could be by Esther. It really made the loss much easier. Each Memorial Day we are still grateful to Claude that he made it happen. Thanks for all the good memories, they will always be with us.Tom Ford

Dear Marlys and Family,I am saddened to hear of Claude's death. I worked for Claude the summer of 1957 while I was going to college, building granaries, unloading boxcars full of lumber and cement, etc. I always had the highest respect for Claude--a Christian gentleman through and through.May you find great comfort in our Savior, Jesus Christ. In Christ's love,Howard M Reinschmidt

Dear Marlys and Green Family: I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Green's passing. He will long be remembered as a pillar of the Yale community and his chuch, Trinity Lutheran. I remember him especially from working with him and others on the perpatuity of the cemetery of Trinity Lutheran. He helped to make the cemetery a beautiful place of rest for the saints awaiting the Great Resurrection and return of our Savior. May our Heavenly Father give you comfort during this time of stress. So sorry to hear that Claude passed away it has taken me awhile to send this to you. I sure hope he didn't have to suffer. I was not able to get back for his funeral but I have had you in my thoughts and prayers since. Maybe I will see you in September I will be back again. I am so glad you got your house sold in Yale and got moved up to Huron. I wish mom could move up there as well I know she would like to but my younger brothers & sisters want her to stay there so it's hard for her to leave. Mom is coming down here Saturday with Dan's wife Kristy and she will be staying with me for a week and I will take her back home.
